Youth Ministry Information
"To
grow in the knowledge of God" is the first aspect
of our parish's mission, one that is central to our parish
life.
As one of the many ministries of the Church, Youth Ministry empowers
our young people to work for justice and service grounded in our
belief in Jesus Christ and to offer themselves as a group of people
transformed by the Holy Spirit in a community of faith, hope,
and love. The Youth of St. Bridget's strive to achieve these goals
through:
Community Outreach, helping the less fortunate in our
community;
Social Activities, interaction and meaningful participation
in civic and community life;
Christian Formation, fostering our Catholic Christian
identity, and developing a personal faith life;
Liturgy, actively proclaiming the Gospel in Word and
Sacrament, and becoming fully integrated into parish life.
Youth Liturgy Opportunities
-Youth
liturgies are
Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. If you are interested in being a lector
or greeter for these liturgies, please contact Teresa Lee at tlee@stbridgets.org.
-Youth
Choir: We
provide the music for youth
liturgies. If you play a musical instrument or would like to sing
in the Youth Choir, call Mike Casey at 741-7626.
-Eucharistic
Ministers: We also need Eucharistic minsters for our
liturgies. If you are in the eleventh or twelfth grade, and
have been confirmed, consider participating. Contact Teresa
Lee if you are interested.
Christian Education Committee
The Christian Education Committee is charged by the Pastoral Council
with the parish's total educational mission. Meetings are held once
a month and are open to all parishioners. We need your ideas and
expertise.
Christians Formation Catechists, Aides, and Substitutes
Catechists plan and teach weekly or monthly lessons during the
school year. Aides support the catechists and assist the children.
Both catechists and aides attend catechist meetings periodically
and communicate with parents. Teaching experience is helpful but
not necessary. Training, resources, and encouragement are provided.
(Substitutes are needed on a consistent basis.)
