About Us

"Our mission is...to welcome and support one another in love, and to share our talents and resources with those in need for the building up of the Body of Christ and the hastening of God's Kingdom in the world."

Come Join Us!

Our parish's richest resource is you -- the people of St. Bridget. The Lord has entrusted each of you with time and talent for service to one another. All parishioners are invited to take part in the many spiritual and social activities that St. Bridget parish offers.

Nursery during Liturgies
Nurseries are available for child care during the 9:00 and 10:30 Liturgies. Child care for infants to 18 months and the toddler nursery are located in the parish commons. Each nursery is staffed by a child care worker paid by the church and parents who volunteer on a co-op basis.

St. Bridget Men's Ministry - The mission of this ministry is to build a stronger relationship with Christ and a deeper love for our family and friends through spiritual growth and Christian fellowship. The group meets in the St. Bridget Commons at 6:45 a.m. the first Saturday of each month. All men of the parish are invited. To learn more, contact Leon Shadowen.

-Next Meeting: Saturday, June 7, 2008, at 6:45 a.m. in the Parish Center Meeting Room.

Knights of Columbus Msgr Francis Byrne Council 5476 - Membership in the Knights of Columbus provides the opportunity for wholesome association with other Catholic gentlemen who recognize the same beliefs of duty to God, family and neighbors. Programs are tailored to individual members' interests. Council meetings take place the fourth Thursday of each month in the Parish Center Meeting Room. -
Family Picnic: The St. Bridget Knights of Columbus members and their families are invited to their first family picnic on Sunday afternoon, June 8, 2008, at Deep Run Park, Shelter 3.  Please contact  Membership Chairman Gary Port  if you plan to attend.

Old Saints and Sinners - The Old Saints and Sinners (OSAS) is a vibrant group of parishioners and friends of the parish, ranging in age from 50 years and up.  The mission of the OSAS is to provide its members with interesting social and spiritual programs.  The OSAS group meets monthly, varying between morning coffees, luncheons and afternoon meetings.  Each OSAS gathering includes a presentation and a social get-together.  Past meetings have focused on art, history, poetry, safety, health and other special topics. They have also included spiritual celebrations and mini-retreats.   The OSAS also enjoys several annual events, including St. Patrick’s Day and Thanksgiving Luncheons, as well as annual theme dinners (Italian, Oktoberfest, and an American Picnic).  The group also takes day excursions ranging beyond Richmond, including in the past trips to Washington, Lexington and Jamestown for the 400th anniversary celebration.

Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, unless otherwise arranged.  To learn more about upcoming events, visit our bulletin board in the Parish Commons and regularly check the website.  Please consider joining our OSAS Coordinating Group to help plan and prepare future meetings.  For more information, contact Ms. Flo Gorman at 965 0902, or Pastoral Care Minister Mary Townsend at 282 9511, ext. 330.

Mark your calendars for the Old Saints and Sinners fourth annual social.  This year, our theme is “Spring into Summer.”  We will celebrate the beautiful spring we have, and look forward to the coming lazy days of summer!  It will be a casual affair, and we are planning some pleasing entertainment from our very own Men’s Ministry Choir!  We will serve a dinner of heavy hors d’oeuvres and light libations (soft drinks, and offer beer/wine for purchase).  Our social is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in the St. Bridget Church Commons.  Please sign up on the Old Saints and Sinners announcement board in the Commons. We will need an accurate number for planning purposes.  Stay tuned during the coming weeks to the weekly bulletin and OSAS bulletin board for details. Questions? Contact Mary Townsend.

Saints Cyril & Methodius Society - The Saints Cyril & Methodius Society is a group of lay people from the Eastern (Orthodox) and Western (Catholic) branches of the Church. Supported by their respective clergies, the group's members are dedicated to the reunion of the two through prayer, study and action. The society meets at 7:00 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at St. Bridget, and will meet alternately at Saints Constantine & Helen Orthodox Church when present construction is complete. To learn more, contact Dan Yates.
